Halle des Machines, Toulouse: From the intimate to the monumental
The gigantic nature of the building and the mechanical bestiary of François Delarozière, director of the company La Machine, had to be reconciled to find the right scale. Sharing the founder’s love of movement, the choreographers brought together a team of 12 artists (8 dancers, 3 musicians, and an author), to which were added 25 young dancers in their 3rd cycle at the Toulouse Conservatory. Jean-Antoine Bigot designed a scenography that played with the volumes of the Hall while the 30 dancers took over all the spaces, in solo, duets, or in a group, taking the audience along in this great carousel…

115 participants… and 52 hours of intervention
On the 30th anniversary of the Kelemenis company and the 5th anniversary of KLAP, Maison pour la danse, its director Michel Kelemenis invited Anne Le Batard and Jean-Antoine Bigot to bring together a group of 100 people for a creation in the public space to celebrate dance together. Professional and amateur dancers, residents, seniors, young adults and children, people in the process of social integration, students from Notre Dame de France and Versailles schools: it was a powerful human experience, which revealed what Ex Nihilo’s dance can do, carried by so many bodies.
Conceived by Anne Le Batard and Jean-Antoine Bigot in close collaboration with Anne Reymann, Corinne Pontana, and Rolando Rocha.
With 115 participants… and 52 hours of intervention, 1 rehearsal at La Cité des Arts de la Rue, 1 dress rehearsal with an audience and 2 performances at Place Bargemon in Marseille

Parcours d’une heure
Ex Nihilo a répondu à l’appel à projet de Marseille Provence 2018, Quel amour ! avec un parcours qui lie les gestes du danseur à ceux des pêcheurs du Port de Saumaty. A chaque rendez-vous, une petite foule de spectateurs, guidée par le mouvement des danseurs, a traversé le port. De la terrasse où l’on ramande les filets en surplombant la baie à la façade décharnée de son restaurant abandonné, des quais d’accostage à l’entrée de la criée aux heures matinales…
